At Monroe University’s King Graduate School, we created the Master of Business Administration in Business Management, Analytics, and Information Technology to help you develop those in-demand skills — so that you can thrive. Though we designed the Master’s in Computer Science program for students who have already completed their undergraduate degree in a related field, students without a computer background may enter the program after completing prerequisite foundation courses. As working professionals themselves, your instructors will bring decades of experience into your classroom. With their guidance, you’ll take a deep dive into cutting-edge tools, technologies, and techniques, including: Networking & cybersecurity, Computer architecture, Operating system (OS) & software design, Database design & management, Data mining Cloud computing, Web design & e-commerce, Artificial intelligence, Mobile computing, and Project management. Through project-based learning, you’ll build greater proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Java, Python, and SQL (Structured Query Language). You’ll complete your coursework with either a thesis or special project in computer science, all under the mentorship of our dedicated faculty.

Forensic psychology demands practitioners who are well-trained in critical analysis and statistical interpretation. It requires deep clinical knowledge to accurately assess neurobehavioral issues associated with aggression, hostility, substance abuse disorders, and more. We designed the Master of Science in Forensic Psychology to develop every one of those skill sets. You’ll begin with a set of core courses that will ground you in the workings of our criminal justice system. You’ll see how behavioral science works within the framework of criminal justice in specialized Forensic Psychology classes: Forensic Mental Health in the Courts, Psychological and Neurobehavioral Assessment Tools, Psychopathology of Serial Offenders, Assessment, Intervention, and Treatment of Domestic Violence. You’ll also apply everything you learn in a forensics practicum that will give you field placement experience in one of several professional settings, including social service agencies, correctional facilities, mental health centers, hospitals, and law enforcement agencies.

Becoming a CPA greatly expands your career opportunities. While non-licensed accountants can have fulfilling, stable careers, they don’t have the authority to perform all of a CPA’s duties. Only CPAs can audit a company’s books, for example, or represent clients before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Most states, including New York, also have a 150-hour education requirement for licensure as a CPA. That’s 30 more credit hours than you’ll get with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Our MS in Accounting will not only help you fulfill your licensure requirement, but it will prepare you to sit for the Uniform CPA Exam that all CPAs must pass. Our program also offers avenues to fulfill New York State’s professional experience requirements. If you’re already employed as a non-licensed accountant, your employer may even be able to help pay for your master’s degree. The American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) also offers several scholarships for aspiring CPAs, as does the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA).

Even if you’ve already begun your criminal justice career, you know that education is the key to career advancement. The program begins with a 4-week Summer Academy held in the month of August preparing you to complete successfully chemistry with lab, college readiness sessions, TEAS exam overview and an introduction to the TEAS preparation program that takes place during the fall semester. The program is a challenging mix of courses in anatomy, chemistry, pharmacology, and healthcare. You’ll take several liberal arts courses, too. Your professors will be with you every step of the way – their goal is to see you succeed!
