Is the Benefits Navigator session really free?
Yes — always. VeteranDegrees.com is funded by compliant marketing fees from partner schools, paid for connecting veterans with programs, never based on whether anyone enrolls. You'll never be charged for a Navigator session, and there's no obligation of any kind.
Is this a sales call?
No. The session is educational: we explain your benefits, run your numbers, and — if you want — build an eligibility-screened shortlist of VA-approved programs matched to your career goal. Some shortlist schools may be partners of ours and some may not; we tell you which is which, and there's never pressure to pick any of them.
What should I have ready for the session?
Helpful but not required: your COE or VA.gov benefit summary, a rough career goal, and the ZIP codes where you might study. A JST or CCAF transcript helps us flag credit you may already have. Have none of these? Book anyway — starting from zero is normal.
Can the Navigator file or help with my VA claim?
No. Navigators provide free educational guidance only. We never prepare, present, or prosecute VA claims, never charge fees, and never ask for VA.gov or any government login credentials. For disability claims, use a VA-accredited representative (VSO, attorney, or claims agent). All benefit decisions are made by the VA.
Will you share my information with schools?
Only with your explicit consent, and only as disclosed. Booking a session sends your information to VeteranDegrees only. If you later ask us to connect you with a specific school, we obtain your consent naming that school before anything is shared. You can opt out anytime.
How long is the session and how does it happen?
Thirty minutes by phone or video, at the time you pick. If your situation needs more, we schedule a follow-up — also free. Reschedule or cancel anytime from your confirmation email.
