Campuses & housing
Monroe's hybrid in-person sessions take place at the Bronx campus (2501 Jerome Avenue). Monroe states that students attending there may qualify for the New York City housing rate; VA decides eligibility and the amount.

Monroe's Bronx campus is at 2501 Jerome Avenue, Bronx, NY 10468, in the Fordham section of the Bronx, about a 30-minute subway ride from Midtown Manhattan (monroeu.edu, checked 2026-10-27).
Monroe's hybrid courses include one required in-person session per semester at the Bronx campus: undergraduates pick one of three Fridays, and graduate students attend one day, on their regular class day, during one of the periods Monroe sets each semester (monroeu.edu veterans page, October 2026). Monroe states that attending that session is needed for the higher in-person housing rate; VA and Monroe's School Certifying Official decide whether you are paid at that rate. Monroe's School Certifying Official and the VA decide how your courses are certified. Your housing allowance can vary based on campus location, course format, enrollment level, and VA eligibility, so confirm your certified schedule before estimating benefits.

Plan ahead
Avoid these four common mistakes so your GI Bill® benefits and the hybrid schedule work from day one.
Monroe states that missing your one required on-campus session is reported to VA and that you would repay the difference between the in-person and online housing rates. VA decides any overpayment.
Avoid all four before they affect your benefits.
Simple next steps
Get Monroe-focused help with eligibility, program verification, military records, and enrollment certification so you can move forward with greater clarity.

Confirm your Monroe degree and delivery format before enrolling or using benefits.

Step 3
Send official transcripts (Parchment or National Student Clearinghouse) and your JST early so Monroe can review transfer and military credit before you finalize your plan.

Step 4
Complete Monroe certification, required hybrid attendance, and VA verification each term to keep tuition and housing benefits on track.

Questions & answers
Yes. Pick one of the three Fridays Monroe offers each semester and attend that single date. Monroe publishes the Friday options each semester, and your advisor can confirm the current ones.
It is always a Friday, and the class is 3 hours long — either 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m., depending on the course you choose.
There's no make-up session. If you miss all three dates, there's no fourth option that semester. Monroe states that missing the in-person requirement is reported to VA and that you would then have to repay the difference between the in-person and online housing rates. VA decides any overpayment, so ask Monroe's school certifying official how this would apply to you.
Yes, depending on class availability and transferred credits; work with your Student Services advisor.
No. Monroe states that its hybrid format lets veterans earn their degree primarily online, depending on class availability in their major. You do need to travel to the Bronx campus for one required in-person session per semester (for undergraduates, a single Friday).
There's no make-up session. Monroe states that missing the in-person requirement is reported to VA and that you would then have to repay the difference between the in-person and online housing rates. VA decides any overpayment.
Monroe offers foundation courses; speak with your advisor.
Monroe strongly suggests a graduate program and says a second bachelor's isn't prohibited. Whether VA pays for a second degree depends on your remaining entitlement and VA's rules.
Monroe says yes, once VA approves you for VR&E.
Monroe states that its Career Services office works with all students, including through Handshake and other networking. Employment decisions rest with the employer.
Monroe's hybrid format has one required in-person session per semester at the Bronx campus. Undergraduates attend a single Friday, chosen from the dates Monroe provides; graduate students attend one day, on their regular class day, during one of the periods Monroe sets each semester. All other sessions of the class are virtual or online. Monroe states that attending your in-person session is needed for the higher in-person housing rate. Whether you receive that rate is decided by VA and Monroe's school certifying official for each course and term: it applies only if VA certifies at least one of your courses as resident training and you're enrolled more than half-time.
This hybrid class has one required in-person session per semester at the Bronx campus; the rest of its sessions are virtual or online. Your other online and virtual courses continue on their normal schedule around that day.
Clinical programs aren't eligible for the hybrid option, because they have in-person clinical requirements that can't be met remotely. Monroe states that this is a scheduling restriction only and that its clinical programs remain approved for VA education benefits. If you're unsure whether your program qualifies, confirm with your advisor before registering.
No. These are two separate lists. Monroe states that most non-clinical programs should be completable through the hybrid option, depending on class availability. Confirm your program with your advisor.
No. The GI Bill®'s housing payment, which most people call BAH and VA calls the Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA), isn't guaranteed: VA decides eligibility and the rate. The higher in-person (resident) rate applies only if VA certifies at least one of your courses as resident training and you're enrolled more than half-time; Monroe's school certifying official and VA decide that for each course and term. Monroe states that eligible Bronx campus students may qualify for the New York City Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) of up to $5,070 per month (monroeu.edu, 2026–27, checked 2026-10-27), and that attending your required in-person session each semester is needed for the in-person rate. If all of your classes are online, VA's distance-only rate is up to $1,198 a month (VA Post-9/11 rates, 2026–27, checked 2026-10-14). Your amount depends on your eligibility tier and how many credits you take.
Monroe states that the housing allowance is paid once you begin attending classes, not held until your in-person date. VA decides your eligibility and rate. Monroe also states that if you don't attend your required in-person session, this is reported to VA and you would have to repay the difference between the in-person and online housing rates.
No. Monroe states that all military veterans receive application-fee waivers (monroeu.edu, checked 2026-10-27). After you apply, you're assigned an Admissions Advisor who can help with the waiver.
Yes. Semesters begin in Winter (January), Spring (April) and Fall (September).
Monroe will accept the Statement of Benefits from VA.gov.
Monroe reviews your Joint Services Transcript (JST) and official college transcripts for transfer credit, so submit both. How much credit you receive depends on Monroe's review. The VA pays only for coursework that is actually required for your program.
Monroe states that it has a dedicated Veteran Services team and provides personalized academic support. Monroe's veterans contact is Roxanna Virgo, Liaison, Veteran and Active Duty Affairs: rvirgo@monroeu.edu · 646.393.8479 (as published on monroeu.edu, checked 2026-10-27).
